Party planning can be fun, but also overwhelming, especially if you want to impress people with your cooking skills.

My favorite party staple is any kind of dip — people love them, and they are pretty easy to make. This one gets loads of flavor from caramelized onions and Everything Bagel seasoning.

This seasoning is pungent, salty, and garlicky, which is the perfect contrast to tender, sweet onions that have been slowly cooked to make them jammy.

Serve this with pita chips, raw veggies, or your favorite hearty potato chips. If you have any left over, spread on a sandwich (it’s delish on a grilled cheese!)

  • 3 tablespoons Ava Jane’s Kitchen Avocado Oil
  • 2 large onions thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 8 ounces cream cheese at room temperature.
  • 1 tablespoon Ava Jane’s Kitchen Everything Bagel Seasoning

  • In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the onions and salt and stir. Turn the heat down to medium low and cook the onions low and slow until browned and caramelized, stirring every few minutes. This will take about 30-40 minutes — don’t try to rush it.
  • When the onions are browned, stir in the balsamic vinegar and turn off heat. Let cool and rough chop.
  • In a mixing bowl, add the yogurt and cream cheese and beat with a hand mixer until smooth. Add the Everything Bagel Seasoning and cooled onions and stir by hand.
  • Chill until ready to serve with chips or veggies.
