I’ve had a lot of buffalo cauliflower “wings” lately, as it seems like every restaurant now has them on their menu. They’re delicious, sure, but isn’t everything coated in buffalo sauce delicious?
After picking up a head of cauliflower at the farmer’s market recently and brainstorming what to do with it, I was thinking about wings, but different. And here we are.
These are pretty easy to make. Just coat your cauliflower in a peppery, crispy batter, coat in breadcrumbs, and bake on high heat until they’re crispy and browned. They’re tender, crispy, and flavorful, and make an amazing appetizer or side dish. It’s definitely my new favorite way to eat cauliflower.
Ingredients:
1 cup flour
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon Ava Jane’s Kitchen Avocado Oil
1 tablespoon Ava Jane’s Kitchen Citrus Salt & Pepper seasoning blend
1 head cauliflower, cut into evenly sized florets
1 cup panko breadcrumbs
Directions:
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.
In a large bowl, whisk the flour, milk, oil, and seasoning until well combined. Add the cauliflower pieces and stir to coat well.
Put the breadcrumbs in a large bowl and toss to coat well.
Line a large baking sheet with parchment. Spread the cauliflower in a single layer and bake for 18-20 minutes, or until cauliflower is browned and tender.
Serve immediately.

can we do broccoli the same way
Cullen – I haven’t, but I don’t see why you couldn’t. Let me know if you try!
Could these be air fried rather than baked?
Catherine — I haven’t tried it, but I think they definitely could!
Oh, I want to try these! However, the directions say to put the cauliflower in the flour/milk mixture. Then put the bread crumbs in a bowl and toss well. So, do you pour the breadcrumbs in the same bowl with the cauliflower milk/flour mixture, then toss to coat the pieces?
TY, it sounds really good, I want to make this for my girl friends tomorrow night!
Hi Jeannie — Use two separate bowls. First the flour milk, then the breadcrumbs. Hope this helps!
